Luhring Augustine is seeking an undergraduate or recent graduate with a background or concentration in art history and/or studio art for a part-time Fall internship.
About the role
This internship runs from September through December, with a commitment of 2–3 days per week (10am–6pm), ideally Tuesday–Thursday. The position is based at our gallery in Chelsea, New York.
Responsibilities
- Provide front desk administrative support: welcome visitors, manage incoming calls, direct inquiries, and offer information about current exhibitions and gallery programming.
- Conduct research and archival work to support sales and exhibitions, including compiling fact sheets with exhibition histories, publication records, provenance, and collection details.
- Assist with facility upkeep by organizing storage areas and maintaining supplies in shared spaces such as the kitchen and stockrooms.
- Support daily operations through administrative assistance, including preparing mailings, coordinating deliveries, and completing occasional errands.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of gallery events, including exhibition openings, artist talks, and walkthroughs in both the Chelsea and Tribeca locations.
Requirements
- Open to undergraduate students and recent graduates with a background or concentration in art history and/or studio art.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is a plus.

Luhring Augustine is a contemporary art gallery representing a roster of international artists. Monthly exhibitions showcase work across painting, photography, sculpture, installations, and video. The gallery also provides secondary-market services for modern and contemporary resale.
Pay
$18 per hour.
