Gage Technician - 2nd shift

About the Role

This position is crucial for supporting our manufacturing operations and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of gages used in automotive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and track all gages used in manufacturing, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Conduct regular gage calibration and maintain accurate calibration activity records.
  • Perform gage correlation studies to ensure the consistency and reliability of measurements across different gages.
  • Collaborate with quality engineers to ensure gages meet all required standards and specifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of gage calibration, maintenance, and correlation studies.
  • Identify and address issues with gages and measurement devices, ensuring minimal downtime in manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure all gages and measurement devices comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of gage management processes.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality technician role, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
  • Proficient in using and calibrating various gages and measurement devices.
  • Strong understanding of gage correlation studies and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with quality engineers and other team members.
  • Relevant certifications in quality assurance or gage calibration are a plus.
  • Undergo a background check following local laws and regulations and successfully pass a drug screening.

Working Conditions

  • Environment: Manufacturing plant with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move gages and equipment as needed.
