Gaelic-Irish Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Gaelic-Irish Interpreter to work remotely from your home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols.
• Speak clearly in both Gaelic-Irish and English using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Ensure punctuality and availability during work hours.
• Follow client instructions and comply with protocol to meet client expectations.
• Understand and adapt to various industries' terminology and procedures.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Handle emotionally and/or stressful calls with sensitivity and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Gaelic-Irish and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain detached and neutral during sensitive calls.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptability to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred.
