GACP Compliance & Audit Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a GACP Compliance & Audit Manager to own the certification and internal audit backbone of our quality management system. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role establishes and maintains Good Agricultural and Collection Practices compliance across cultivation and post-harvest, and independently audits the quality system itself.
The GACP Compliance & Audit Manager will directly own GACP certification readiness and maintenance, the internal audit program, the corrective and preventive action process, and traceability from propagation through finished goods. This role also owns the documented readiness assessment against export requirements, including EMA GACP and EU GMP.
This is a builder role for someone who wants to establish a compliance and audit program and the team around it, rather than maintain one that already runs. As Glass House Brands grows quickly, your scope may evolve to match new opportunities and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Own GACP certification readiness and maintenance.
- Establish and manage the internal audit program, including audit planning, execution, findings management, and closure.
- Oversee the corrective and preventive action (CAPA) process.
- Maintain traceability from propagation through finished goods.
- Conduct documented readiness assessments against export requirements, including EMA GACP and EU GMP.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, life sciences, food science, quality management, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in quality assurance, compliance, or auditing within a regulated production environment such as cannabis, food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or agriculture.
- Direct working experience with GACP, GMP, HACCP, ISO 9001, or an equivalent regulated production standard.
- Demonstrated experience running an internal audit program, including audit planning, execution, findings management, and closure.
- Working knowledge of CAPA methodology and structured root cause analysis.
- Certified auditor credential such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or ASQ CQA, or experience preparing an operation for initial certification (preferred).
- Conversational Spanish (a plus).
- Valid California driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly between our Camarillo and Carpinteria sites.
- Ability to work in greenhouse and post-harvest environments, including heat, humidity, and extended periods of standing and walking, with required personal protective equipment.
Skills
- Able to read a standard and translate it into actionable steps and record-keeping for floor personnel.
- Rigorous, evidence-based approach to findings, with the confidence to hold a position under pressure.
- Strong written communication for audit reports, findings, and regulatory correspondence.
- Ability to build cooperative working relationships with the teams being audited.
- Sound risk judgment — able to distinguish critical findings from minor ones.
- Strong organizational skills to manage a multi-site audit calendar alongside certification activities.
- Comfortable working in production areas and gathering evidence at the point of work.
Personal Attributes
- High integrity, particularly when addressing inconvenient findings.
- Independent judgment, with the willingness to escalate rather than absorb risk.
- Thorough and consistent without becoming bureaucratic.
- A collaborative approach that treats compliance as shared work rather than enforcement.
Why Join Us
- Establish GACP compliance at one of the largest cannabis greenhouse operations in the country.
- Build an internal audit program from the ground up, with a defined mandate and direct executive visibility.
- Create the controlled foundation — internal audit, corrective action, traceability — that export certification requires.
- Work where compliance and operations meet, with direct access to the leaders who can change the process.
