Coker University is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to serve as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position offers a stipend and graduate tuition remission.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, conditioning, speed, agility, and flexibility programs for assigned athletic teams.
- Provide expert instruction and supervision to student-athletes during training sessions, ensuring proper technique and a safe training environment.
- Conduct and analyze athlete assessments to monitor progress and adjust training programs as needed.
- Maintain accurate training records and communicate effectively with coaches, athletic trainers, and other support staff regarding athlete development and any concerns.
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of the strength and conditioning facilities and equipment.
- Adhere to all university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Maintain current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Current certification as a CSCS through the NSCA or an SCCC through the CSCCa.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for athletes at the collegiate level (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and sports nutrition.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using weight room technology and data management systems.
- Must pass background check.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
