Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Pre-K Teacher in implementing Georgia Pre-K curriculum and daily classroom activities.
• Support children's learning through small group work, whole group instruction, and individualized attention.
• Promote positive interactions and social-emotional development.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom that meets Bright from the Start licensing and Pre-K program standards.
• Participate in professional development, planning sessions, and parent engagement opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with fellow staff, administration, and families to support student success.

Requirements

Per Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) Pre-K Program Standards, Assistant Teachers must meet one of the following:

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
• Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) in Early Childhood Education
• Current enrollment in an approved credential or degree program with progress toward completion
• Satisfactory Background Check
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a Georgia Pre-K program
• CPR/First Aid certified
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A nurturing, positive attitude and commitment to developmentally appropriate practices
