Join our team as a Georgia Pre-K Assistant Teacher, supporting the creation of a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment for four-year-old children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, supporting lesson implementation, and fostering children's social, emotional, and academic growth. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in maintaining classroom routines, ensuring compliance with Bright from the Start (DECAL) standards, and contributing to a positive and well-organized classroom. Effective collaboration with the Lead Teacher and clear communication with staff are essential to success in this position.
Teacher Responsibilities
- Daily supervision and class functions of a group of children are a key part of this role
- The establishment and maintenance of a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment is essential
- This position requires adherence to all rules and regulations at Chroma Early Learning Academy and local, state, and national agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
- Providing support for each child's social and emotional development and offering positive guidance is crucial
- Ongoing assessment of each child's developmental needs is a vital responsibility
- Implementing approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules in accordance with the Chroma Early Learning Academy curriculum and programming is a primary duty
- Maintaining an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence is a key aspect of this role
- Verbal recognition and acceptance of children, while providing clear and consistent expectations for behavior, is a vital part of this position
- Responsibility for maintenance and housekeeping duties of the classroom, common areas, and playgrounds is required
- Regular attendance at staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions is essential
- Maintaining a professional appearance, adhering to guidelines in the Chroma Early Learning Academy Employee Handbook, is a requirement
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children is essential for this role
Requirements
- Satisfactory Background Check
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have CDA, TCC, or Paraprofessional Certification
