What You Will Do
- Conducts Receiving Inspections (RX) of materials received; may unload trucks when shipment arrives at shipping dock in boxes, crates, bins etc.
- Identify parts by Purchase Order (PO) and barcode system and store in a designated location in RX.
- Receive parts by verifying the part is correctly listed on shipping documents; verify identifying numbers (part and serial); complete visual inspection.
- Use computers to access programs such as SAP, Microsoft Outlook, and other programs in the Pratt & Whitney network.
- Communicate in writing/verbally concerns with supplier conformance.
- Observe the condition of received hardware and document technical observations on paper.
- Establish professional rapport with customers, vendors and quality engineers.
- Perform visual inspection of purchased parts and materials.
- Verify part, serial numbers, part numbers, and deviations; check for obvious damage/defects.
- Complete inspection records, logs, and rejection reports.
- Unload parts from courier truck at loading dock; ability to obtain PIV license.
- Complete invoice and packing slips to ensure customer payment.
- Obtain RX inspection stamp within 3 months in role.
Qualifications You Must Have
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic knowledge and proficiency of inspection methods.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrate commitment to the business support functions: EH&S, HR, CORE, ITC, Quality, etc.
- Must meet vision & color perception requirements.
- Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must have excellent reading and writing skill with great attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook), etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) and work in a team environment.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Basic math skills.
