FY27: Coach, JV Softball, Wootton HS

Requirements

• Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS (for standard coach position).
• Complete or be enrolled in the two‑credit MCPS course “Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED”.
• Submit the online MCPS application.
• For a Level I Emergency Coach: be a certified teacher (not necessarily employed by MCPS) and meet the course and application requirements.
• For a Level II Emergency Coach: be a high school graduate, at least 21 years old, complete the two‑credit course, and submit the online application.

Job Specific Information

Coaches are hired for one season by the principal or designee of the school with the vacancy. Schools must hire qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators when available; emergency coaches may be hired if none are available.

Pay

Wage range depends on multiple factors such as the nature of the project, prior experience in MCPS, and current negotiated agreements. For wage information, contact the hiring manager.
