FY 26-27 IDEA Compliance Coach/Resource Teacher
Reports to: Director of Exceptional Student Services and Principal
Qualifications
- Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree (minimum requirement), Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years of effective special education classroom teaching preferred
- Mentoring or Instructional Coaching Experience preferred
About the Role
Works collaboratively with district and school leadership to ensure district compliance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) through the provision of specially designed instruction and compliant Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Responsibilities
- Ensures direct specially designed instruction is provided within all cognitive support classrooms.
- Ensures the creation of compliant Individual Education Plans for assigned service management students.
- Assists probationary special education teachers in reporting goal progress for Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Differentiates support for probationary special education teachers based on demonstrated need.
- Provides guidance and logistical support to probationary special education teachers to ensure district and school processes are understood, utilized, and developed to ensure effective student learning.
- Ensures that probationary special education teacher’s instruction aligns with the district’s and school’s lesson plan process by utilizing strategies, methods, and materials appropriate to the student’s individual education plan.
- Able to facilitate small groups of teachers in learning instructional best practices to address specific student learning needs identified through the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Establishes schedule for alternative assessments and supports teachers in conducting alternative state assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work is performed in an educational environment with moderate physical requirements. Required to perform the following physical requirements of the position with reasonable accommodations. Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, and working to deadlines.
Schedule
10-month, part-time position. This role is needs-based and required only when there is an absence of appropriately certified special education teachers.
Pay
Exempt, Certified Teacher Salary Placement Schedule, with benefits in accordance with Governing Board Policy.
