About the role

Assist with day-to-day operations of the Theatre Department.

Responsibilities

• Support backstage and technical theatre activities
• Assist with theatre production tasks such as sewing, painting, drawing, graphic design, carpentry, electrics, and use of computer software or video tools
• Collaborate with team members to foster a diverse, inclusive, and community-oriented environment

Requirements

• Must be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2026-2027 academic year
• Demonstrate familiarity with theatre-related tools and techniques (e.g., sewing, painting, carpentry, electrics, computer software, video, or programming) via a letter of recommendation addressing character and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working backstage on more than one high school or college theatre production
• Experience with building, construction, or craft projects, or demonstrated familiarity with theatre tools and techniques through a portfolio or letter of recommendation
• Patience, a sense of humor, and a sincere desire to support others in achieving success in technical theatre

This role is designed specifically for student workers at junior or senior status at the University of La Verne.

Schedule

Flexible schedule with weekday shifts, some evenings, and weekends. Ideal candidates can work Monday and Wednesday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
