FWS Communications and Marketing Intern

About the Role

This Federal Work Study position offers hands-on experience in content creation, visual storytelling, and digital communications while contributing to the Dean’s Office team at the University of South Florida College of Behavioral and Community Sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and schedule content for social media platforms
  • Draft newsletter content, web content, and other marketing materials
  • Design visual assets for social media, email, and the web using established brand guidelines
  • Conduct media monitoring
  • Build and format emails and newsletters
  • Assist with promoting college events, including on-site photography
  • Proofread and review materials for accuracy, clarity, and AP style consistency
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team on a variety of projects

Requirements

  • Eligible for Federal Work Study program
  • Availability to work during the Fall 2026 term
  • Basic editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong organization and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate about project progress and meet deadlines
  • Initiative and a willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) AP Style
  • Experience using Canva
  • Experience with photography

Schedule

In-person position, 10-20 hours per week, flexible around your class schedule.
