FWS Campus Safety Department - Safety Aide (2025/2026)

About the role

The Campus Safety Aide Student Employee will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations under the direction of the Student Worker Coordinator and Campus Safety Aide.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining confidentiality of information
• Communicate with diplomacy and tact in sensitive situations
• Exercise sound judgement and work independently
• Handle multiple, simultaneous responsibilities in stressful situations
• Work various rotating shifts including weekends and night shifts
• May work up to 20 hours per week during regular semesters and up to 28 hours per week during summer, winter, and spring breaks

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A pleasant disposition
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently
• Ability and willingness to work a wide variety of shifts including late night/early morning hours and weekends
• Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record required

Qualifications

• ULV student status preferred
• Experience in data entry and retrieval preferred
• Strong customer service background preferred
• Interest in public safety preferred
