About the role
Join GDIT as an Operations and Training Manager at the Fort Wainwright, Alaska (FWA) Mission Training Complex (MTC). As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Brigade and above level operational planning and exercise scenario development, you will oversee day-to-day operations and training, ensuring critical outcomes for complex government, defense, and intelligence projects in the Arctic's premiere simulation center.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day oversight of FWA MTC operations and training, working closely with the MTC Government Operations POC and/or Director to keep them informed of training and event support requirements, changes, and conflicts.
- Perform scheduling and coordination of MTC resources and the training request process.
- Participate in and lead operations and exercise updates, staff meetings, and planning conferences (Concept Development, Initial Planning, Mid Planning, Final Planning) for Training Command assigned exercises.
- Prepare briefings and required materials; serve as a member of EXCON Cell, Scenario Cell, or Observer Controller-Trainer Cell during event execution.
- Maximize the use of Mission Command Systems (MCS), Battle Command Systems, training aids, devices, simulations and simulators (TADSS), mission-specific digital systems/tools, and other IT and AI assets in a highly intense IT environment.
- Teach, coach, and mentor less experienced professionals and contractors.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree required; U.S. Army MEL IV qualified, equivalent ILE, or senior NCOES required.
- Minimum five years’ experience with military training and training support operations.
- Five years of operations and training management experience at Brigade level and above.
- Three years’ experience, within the last 10 years, with military simulations.
- Robust understanding of the Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP) and MTC Operations.
- Technical expertise in the Joint Exercise Life Cycle.
- Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of Mission Command (MC) systems.
- Expert knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the development and delivery of Army and Joint training programs.
- Expert knowledge of the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP).
- Knowledge of and experience with emerging mission command technologies (MAVEN, TAK, WINTAK, AIDP).
- SECRET clearance required.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $109,250, though actual compensation may vary based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
