FVP, Relationship Manager
About the role
The Role: A Relationship Manager ("RM") handles both client-facing business development responsibilities and portfolio management tasks. This position is suitable for someone transitioning from Portfolio Manager (PM) to Senior Relationship Manager (SRM).
Responsibilities
- Identify and bring new clients to the Bank.
- Negotiate and structure the primary terms of the loan with the client; circulate concept memo if needed prior to issuance of term sheet/LOI.
- Prepare the Credit Commitment Report (“CCR”) for new loans, renewals, amendments and annual reviews.
- Present the CCR to the requisite approval authority levels.
- Review loan documents, either internally prepared or by outside counsel, to ensure accuracy.
- Manage the client experience during the loan closing process.
- Maintain and manage the credit quality of the assigned loan portfolio.
- Evaluate and determine the appropriate course of action on potential credit quality issues.
- Affirm compliance with Bank, regulatory, and credit requirements.
- Assist with mentoring and coaching junior officers and loan staff.
Qualifications
- U.S. College graduate with major in related fields.
- 7-10+ years of commercial lending and banking experience with thorough knowledge of lending regulations and credit/underwriting practices.
- Strong loan negotiation (rates, terms, collateral requirements) experience.
- Previous underwriting experience in commercial and energy lending.
Skills/Ability
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of Bank's credit policy, risk management, underwriting requirements, and loan servicing.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and services.
- PC proficiency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Mandarin or Cantonese) a plus but not required.
- Ability to work independently to structure loans and/or lines of credits.
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
- Effective in a fast-paced, high-production, and team environment.
- Excellent time management skills and accustomed to working with deadlines.
- Able to assume responsibility and accountability for decision-making.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of Bank personnel.
Details
Pay Range: $170K – $200K / year
