About the role

The Fusion Technician is responsible for operating in the field, on-call or providing technical support to assigned customers. They install, configure, perform problem determination and maintain products and equipment at customer sites, following blueprints and manufacturer's instructions, utilizing product and technical knowledge of equipment. They also repair or coordinate repair of worn or defective products or equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment.
  • Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training with responsibility and accountability for the safety of the crews under their direction.
  • Inspects work site to determine sequencing and method of pipe installation and surveys for potential hazards or safety concerns.
  • Provides technical solutions and design implementations for products and services.
  • Strong Math skills. Performs routine analysis, calculations, and recommends changes.
  • Diagnoses and reports malfunctions.
  • Learns and understands technical equipment; attends training and completes certification as required.
  • Completes required documentation, forms, etc. for the job at hand (i.e., JSA, Vehicle Inspections, Equipment Inspections, etc.).
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • A must: Previous HDPE experience.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Education: HS Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to apply effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • License: Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

  • Must be able to be on call at times and work overtime when needed.

Environmental Job Requirements

  • Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
  • Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8 - 20 pounds).
  • Typically requires overnight travel more than 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to be on call at times and work overtime when needed.
