General Purpose

The Manufacturing Associate is responsible for assembling furniture products and related components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role supports customer demand by following lean manufacturing principles to produce high-quality products safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions

  • Assemble furniture products and components according to established work instructions and quality standards.
  • Read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, including work orders, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S standards and departmental safety guidelines.
  • Inspect products and equipment as required; identify and report quality, safety, or equipment issues to the department supervisor.
  • Rotate among departmental workstations and perform at least 75% of the jobs within the department at the required cycle time.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities within the department or across the organization.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance based on assigned work schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business objectives.

  • Education/Experience: One of the following is required:
    • A high school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example),
    • work experience which demonstrates performance competency.
  • Skills and Abilities: Basic math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction; Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other departments; Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment; Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling, gripping, and assembling components.
  • Regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain visual acuity, with or without correction.
