About the role
The Furniture Hand Tie Spring-Up position is located in Claremont, NC. You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will:
- Position and secure coil springs according to design specifications and production requirements.
- Perform traditional 8-way hand-tied spring-up construction on sofas, chairs, ottomans and other upholstered furniture.
- Install jute webbing and prepare furniture frames for spring-up construction.
- Tie springs in multiple directions to ensure proper support, comfort and durability.
- Build and shape spring decks to achieve desired seating comfort and appearance.
- Install spring-up materials and components according to production specifications.
- Inspect spring units and foundations for quality, consistency and structural integrity.
- Collaborate with upholsterers and production team members to meet manufacturing schedules and quality expectations.
- Maintain tools, materials and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Able to maintain high standards of accuracy in all tasks, ensuring materials and components meet quality standards.

Requirements
- At least 8-10 years of experience in upholstery or upholstered furniture manufacturing.
- Knowledge of traditional upholstery techniques, including webbing, spring placement and hand tying.
- Experience reading and understanding production tickets and specifications.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and interpret production requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
- Good communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
- Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with traditional 8-way hand-tied spring-up construction.
Skills
- Ability to frequently lift furniture components weighing approximately 50-75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 10-hour periods and bend, twist and reach as required to complete upholstery production tasks.
- Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
