About the role

ATI is looking to add a Furnace Mason to our team in Monroe, North Carolina. As a Furnace Mason, you will be part of a successful team responsible for manufacturing highly engineered materials and products for the aerospace and defense industry.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and install refractory brick in walls, ceilings, floors, and arches when performing repairs or rebuilds of furnaces
  • Perform various types of rough finish masonry work such as laying brick
  • Properly use and maintain refractory tools and equipment including air hammers, hand tools, grinders & Cut-Off saws
  • Perform necessary set-up and layout projects by reading and interpreting blueprints, measuring, leveling, and squaring to install and build to specifications
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Operate fork trucks and cranes

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least one (1) year of Heavy Manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 9 months of melt shop or Masonry experience
  • Effective teamwork skills with an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate multiple different pieces of equipment
  • Efficient reading, writing, and basic math aptitude, including the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Knowledge of the properties and workability of bonding and ceramic materials
  • Strong ability to multi-task and provide guidance to other employees
  • Basic computer skills
