Furn Repair & Service Tech
JOB SUMMARY
Performs a number of duties to fit, trim and adjust furniture for interior of aircraft.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works interior repair squawks as needed to support delivery schedules with some guidance from others.
- Completes final fit and trim of standard assemblies per aircraft.
- Makes adjustments to drawer slides, tables and mismatched doors to ensure proper alignment and finish.
- Makes repairs to surfaces by sanding and buffing to a smooth finish.
- Ensures finished assemblies meet quality specifications and requirements.
- Uses small and large power tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, routers, saws, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges and other measuring instruments.
- Ensures assemblies meet customer specifications.
- Responsible only for own work.
- Makes minor modifications to assemblies per customer specifications.
EDUCATION
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification and Textron Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.
EXPERIENCE
1+ year of aircraft furniture repair service experience. Examples include buff, finish, build, final assembly, and other related duties.
Safety and Working Conditions
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required. Possible exposure to dust, heat, loud noise. Safety shoes could be required.
