Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- This position transports deceased individuals from various locations on a “on call” basis, primarily dedicated to be available evenings and weekends and/or weekday daytime coverage.
- Other duties as assigned to include light maintenance, cleaning, filing, etc.
Requirements
- Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Must be able to work evenings which may fall on weekends and/or holidays
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Able to use critical thinking skills and creativity to navigate unique situations and conversations
- Able to safely and efficiently drive a motor vehicle including ability to effectively locate addresses using GPS or other methods
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Able to work under pressure, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Able to work independently and to carry out transports within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Must have excellent driving record, a valid driver license and pass a motor vehicle record check
Physical Requirements
- Must have the ability to exude kindness, and a compassionate demeanor when interacting with the newly bereaved family
- Able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
