About the role

The Funeral Event Planner serves families by guiding them through the process of making informed decisions when arranging a loved one’s funeral with care and compassion. You will be the primary point of contact for families, parish staff, vendors, and CFCS staff for funeral services, communicating, coordinating, and following through on all aspects of the funeral service case.

Responsibilities

  • Guide families through funeral arrangements with care and compassion.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for families, parish staff, vendors, and CFCS staff.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of funeral service cases.

Requirements

  • Event planning experience for large functions (required).
  • Funeral Director license (a plus).
  • Associate’s degree or 60 hours toward an Associate’s Degree (any field of study).
  • Valid Driver’s License (required).
  • Interest in obtaining a funeral license (a plus).
  • Interest in working in a Catholic environment (all backgrounds welcome).
  • Passion for people and ability to coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift or move objects weighing between 75-100 lbs.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 300 lbs. with a wheeled cart.
  • Ability to stand for long periods on a hard surface.
