Fundraising Senior Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer's

About the Role

As Sr. Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Walk to End Alzheimer’s® ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States and is one of the fastest-growing walk events in the country. In 2024, it was again recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event and achieved the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30.

You will drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders, building and empowering sustainable volunteer committees, and managing multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events annually. This role is responsible for the markets of Wichita, Hutchinson, and Salina, Kansas.

Responsibilities

  • Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve event revenue goals, increase participation, and heighten brand awareness.
  • Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best practices for fundraising, leveraging proven strategies to achieve goals.
  • Manage multiple volunteer-led mass-market events simultaneously to drive year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment to build long-term community relationships.
  • Prospect, cultivate, and steward event teams, sponsors, and participants to meet or exceed revenue and participant goals.
  • Develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships to expand event impact.
  • Manage event budgets, train volunteers, set timelines and milestones, and use data to drive positive outcomes.
  • Generate excitement and enthusiasm in the community for Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals or 3-5 years of successful experience meeting sales targets.
  • Confident, goal-oriented, and positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships.
  • Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and follow-through.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car (occasional overnight or air travel may be required).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends for committee meetings, Walk events, and related activities.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $60,000 – $75,000, with a performance-based incentive opportunity up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.

Schedule

Full-time role based on 37.5 hours per week. Requires flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for events and meetings.
