Fundraising Senior Manager, Walk to End Alzheimer's
About the Role
As Sr. Manager of Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you join an exclusive team of leaders responsible for the implementation of Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Walk to End Alzheimer’s® ranks as the second-largest peer-to-peer fundraising event in the United States and continues to set the pace as one of the fastest-growing walk events in the country. In 2024, it was again recognized as the #2 peer-to-peer fundraising event and achieved the largest dollar growth of any program in the top 30.
You will drive success and achieve revenue goals by strategically identifying and engaging community and corporate leaders, building and empowering sustainable volunteer committees, and generating excitement and enthusiasm in the community. As a fundraising leader, you will manage multiple peer-to-peer fundraising events annually, coach volunteers, and implement proven strategies to ensure year-over-year event growth.
Responsibilities
- Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve event revenue goals, increase participation, and heighten brand awareness.
- Recruit, manage, and coach volunteers to implement best practices and achieve fundraising goals, leveraging custom training on peer-to-peer fundraising.
- Manage multiple volunteer-led mass-market events simultaneously to drive revenue growth year over year.
- Convene and foster a positive, healthy, and inclusive team environment to build long-term community relationships.
- Achieve or surpass revenue and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
- Prospect, cultivate, and steward event teams, sponsors, and participants.
- Manage event budgets, train volunteers, set timelines and milestones, and use data to drive positive outcomes.
- Travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car, including occasional overnight or air travel.
- Work some evenings and weekends for committee meetings, Walk events, and related activities.
- Lift and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals or 3-5 years of successful experience meeting sales targets.
- Confident, goal-oriented, and positive self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and nurture corporate relationships and partnerships.
- Ability to manage large numbers of volunteers at different levels of expertise with diplomacy.
- Ability to work with diverse communities and in a highly matrixed organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and follow-through.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software.
Pay
The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $68,000 – $77,000. There is a performance-based incentive opportunity up to $13,000, depending on portfolio size and achievement of quarterly goals.
