About the Role
The Manager of Relationship Events is responsible for the implementation of the Memory Gala - Wichita and its wrap-around event(s) to meet or exceed the budgeted goal through volunteer recruitment and engagement as well as through corporate development. This position will also assist with the growth and management of other corporate development initiatives as determined by the Chapter Executive or Development Department Lead. Measurable outcomes include driving volunteer and corporate engagement and revenue growth as identified in the strategic plan.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of the Memory Gala and wrap-around event(s).
- Lead high-level volunteer recruitment, training, coaching, and management to attain revenue and engagement goals.
- Foster relationships with key community stakeholders, volunteers, participants, sponsors, leaders, and corporate partners.
- Manage all financial aspects of sponsor and donor fulfillment.
- Prospect, cultivate, and steward Gala sponsors and donors to achieve development goals through volunteer networks.
- Maintain ongoing, year-round relationships with key corporate sponsors, donors, and volunteers to ensure involvement in chapter activities and recognition opportunities.
- Work with the volunteer planning committee to organize outreach activities promoting the Alzheimer’s Association mission, including community presentations and corporate engagement opportunities.
- Ensure alignment with Alzheimer’s Association policies, procedures, brand standards, and best practices.
- Actively participate in learning opportunities for professional growth and self-improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in corporate fundraising, relationship building, and recruiting and mobilizing volunteers to achieve goals.
- 2-5 years of experience in galas/special events with proven success in special event fundraising or related activities; strong volunteer management experience essential.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
- Adaptive and flexible with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and demands.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as in a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, GiveSmart or similar donor event database, Adobe Pro.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car; occasional overnight or air travel may be required.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends as required for committee meetings, events, and related activities.
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs. of materials.
Pay
The Alzheimer's Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $60,000 – $70,000.
