Fundraising Manager, Do What You Love

More than a Do It Yourself Fundraiser, Do What You Love to end ALZ is a signature event of the Alzheimer’s Association and one of the fastest-growing, most unique peer-to-peer campaigns in the world. As the exclusive manager of Do What You Love to end ALZ in your community, you will leverage proven networking and relationship-building skills to identify and cultivate key community connections, corporate partnerships, and new audiences—including golfers, hikers, live streamers, and bridge players—to drive campaign success. This role is ideal for an innovative, independent go-getter who thrives in a self-directed environment and delivers measurable results.

About the Role

This position is based in Orlando or Jacksonville and responsible for the Central & North Florida chapter territory. You will proactively recruit, train, coach, and inspire a volunteer committee to achieve fundraising and event-planning success while expanding the campaign’s reach through creative community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build sustainable corporate and community relationships to achieve event revenue goals and increase brand awareness.
  • Recruit, manage, and coach volunteer committees to implement best practices and meet fundraising goals.
  • Coach and inspire individuals and teams to set and reach revenue targets.
  • Identify, recruit, and engage new companies and activity-based groups in the community.
  • Manage volunteer-led events that drive year-over-year revenue growth.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team environment to build long-term community and volunteer relationships.
  • Surpass financial and participant goals through team and individual fundraising, corporate solicitation, and community partnerships.
  • Develop community growth strategies targeting markets such as golf, hiking, and live streaming.
  • Execute plans with the Volunteer Committee to recruit and retain past participants through best practices and excellent customer service.
  • Form and cultivate sustainable corporate relationships and partnerships.
  • Network year-round to recruit and retain volunteers, companies, organizations, and activity groups.
  • Create unique, engaging community outreach activities (e.g., presentations, networking events, corporate engagement) to promote the Alzheimer’s Association’s mission.
  • Maintain year-round relationships with Global Team partners and constituents to ensure involvement in chapter activities and recognition opportunities.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in volunteer committee development.
  • Confident, goal-oriented self-starter able to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to execute plans with volunteer committees to recruit and retain participants through best practices and customer service.
  • Demonstrated ability to form and cultivate sustainable corporate relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 60% within the assigned territory by car (occasional overnight or air travel may be required).
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, good driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and transport up to 25 lbs of materials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and social media; experience with or ability to rapidly learn Luminate/Convio software.

Pay

The Alzheimer’s Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is $50,000–$70,000.
