Fundraising Coordinator (Part time, remote)

Responsibilities
- Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts to grow annual individual giving and strengthen donor retention.
- Develop and manage a portfolio of individual donors, foundations, and institutional partners.
- Write and execute quarterly, annual, and campaign-based fundraising appeals across email, mail, and digital channels.
- Identify, write, and manage foundation grant proposals and reports.
- Partner with the Board of Directors and volunteer leaders to identify prospects, deepen relationships, and support fundraising outreach.
- Plan and oversee CHOSA’s annual fundraising event in Los Angeles and develop donor engagement events in other key U.S. cities.
Administration
- Maintain and optimize the Little Green Light donor database, ensuring accurate gift tracking, reporting, and donor stewardship records.
- Oversee donor-facing communications across CHOSA’s website, email newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Create and distribute regular impact updates, fundraising communications, and the annual print newsletter.
Other Responsibilities
- Collaborate monthly with CHOSA's South Africa-based fundraising team to align fundraising strategies, share best practices, and support organization-wide development goals.
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues in South Africa to understand on-the-ground operations, collaborate across teams, and help connect U.S.-based fundraising efforts to most accurately reflect the needs and impact of CHOSA's partner projects.
- Attend virtual CHOSA General Membership meetings (approximately quarterly, on weekends) and present a concise fundraising and financial update.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
- Passion for international development, education, and community-led change.
- Demonstrated success securing individual gifts at a grassroots level, and/or unrestricted grants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing donor databases.
- Experience working remotely and independently.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience working with nonprofit boards.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take initiative while serving as CHOSA's sole U.S.-based staff member.
