Job Summary

SunCoast Blood Centers is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Fund Development & Grants Manager to lead and coordinate fundraising, grant development, philanthropic partnerships, and community funding initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Research, identify, and pursue federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and submit grant proposals, applications, budgets, supporting documentation, and funding narratives.
  • Maintain grant calendars, funding pipelines, reporting schedules, and application timelines.
  • Identify and assist leadership in pursuing appropriations, public funding opportunities, and healthcare infrastructure investment initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grant agencies, community foundations, governmental entities, and funding partners.
  • Support organizational efforts to position SunCoast Blood Centers as critical healthcare infrastructure within emergency preparedness, healthcare access, and community resilience initiatives.
  • Coordinate community fundraising campaigns and donor engagement initiatives supporting organizational priorities and mission awareness.
  • Develop partnerships supporting gifts-in-kind donations including supplies, services, sponsorships, equipment, and operational resources.
  • Collaborate with businesses, healthcare partners, vendors, and community organizations to support mission-focused campaigns and events.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and engage in community activities for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel locally for meetings, community events, donor engagement activities, and organizational initiatives.

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with frequent community engagement and external partnership activities.
  • Local travel may be required to attend meetings, events, grant-related activities, and donor engagement opportunities.
  • OCCASIONAL evening and weekend work may be required based on fundraising campaigns, grant deadlines, organizational events, and community activities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in grant development, fundraising, nonprofit development, donor relations, sponsorship development, or public funding administration required. Experience preparing and managing federal, state, and local grant applications strongly preferred. Experience with healthcare, nonprofit, public health, emergency preparedness, or mission-driven organizations preferred. Experience managing donor databases, grant tracking systems, CRM platforms, or fundraising software preferred. Experience developing sponsorship packages, community campaigns, or philanthropic partnerships preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong grant writing, proposal development, and technical writing skills. Strong relationship-building and donor engagement capabilities. Knowledge of grant compliance requirements, reporting obligations, and funding administration processes. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding priorities simultaneously. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational leadership levels. Ability to represent SunCoast Blood Centers professionally within community, governmental, donor, and stakeholder environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, reporting platforms, CRM systems, donor databases, and grant tracking tools.
  • Preferred Certifications: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred. Grant Professional Certification (GPC) preferred. Certificate in Fund Raising Management (CFRM) or related certification preferred.
