About the role
Our client is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting and administration of private equity and hedge fund clients. This role combines client relationship management, fund accounting oversight, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary contact for alternative investment fund clients.
- Review and approve NAV calculations, reconciliations, financial statements, and accounting reports.
- Oversee new fund launches, client onboarding, and fund conversions.
- Support year-end audits and ensure compliance with GAAP, AML requirements, and relevant regulations.
- Manage client inquiries, reporting deadlines, and escalated accounting matters.
- Lead, develop, and manage Fund Accounting Supervisors and Fund Accountants.
- Coordinate with investment managers, transfer agents, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.
- Support prospect meetings, client presentations, and business development activity.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least five years of fund accounting or fund administration experience.
- Alternative investment experience is required.
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong Excel, communication, and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability.
