About the role
The Fund Accounting Analyst (Temporary) position is available in New York, NY for a temporary role supporting fund accounting, fund operations, and investor reporting within a private investment environment.
Responsibilities
- Cash Reconciliations: Perform daily cash reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and assist with maintaining accurate fund cash records.
- Fund Operations: Track capital call notices, distribution notices, financial statements, and other fund documentation while maintaining organized records.
- Accounting Support: Assist with invoice processing, capital activity, NAV support, and reconciliation of fund accounting information.
- Investor Reporting: Support the preparation and review of investor reporting, capital account information, and related operational deliverables.
- Process Improvement: Maintain internal trackers, templates, and documentation while assisting with workflow enhancements and operational projects.
- Project Support: Assist with audit preparation, ad hoc analyses, and other fund accounting and operational initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, fund administration, or related internship experience.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to fund accounting, private equity, investment operations, or financial services.
- Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and spreadsheet analysis.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field is required. 0–2 years of experience in accounting, finance, fund administration, or related internship experience is required. Exposure to fund accounting, private equity, investment operations, or financial services is required. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, and spreadsheet analysis, are required. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and a willingness to learn are required.
