About the role

Atlantic Group is hiring a Fund Accountant (Private Equity) in New York, NY for our client, supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting, and finance operations within a private investment firm. This highly visible role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, management company accounting, portfolio reporting, and operational finance while working closely with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Fund Accounting: Maintain general ledger activity, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial records for investment funds and the management company.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, investor reports, capital account statements, and supporting financial schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Capital Activity: Process capital calls, distributions, management fee calculations, and investor allocations while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Coordinate annual audits, prepare supporting schedules, and assist with tax workpapers while partnering with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Portfolio & Operational Finance: Support portfolio company reporting, expense monitoring, new investment onboarding, and finance initiatives across the investment platform.
  • Process Improvement: Enhance accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and assist with technology and automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • 3–5 years of fund accounting, fund administration, public accounting, or private equity accounting experience is required.
  • Experience supporting private equity, alternative investments, investment funds, or other private capital structures is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required; experience with accounting systems, fund reporting platforms, or ERP software is preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a hands-on investment environment.

Pay

$120,000 – $140,000/year + bonus.
