Functional Test Engineer
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Liquid Cooling
- Failure Analysis & Debugging
- Automation & Data Analysis
- Continuous Improvement
- Technical Leadership & Training
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
Reporting & Communication
Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the Functional test engineer will serve as a key technical lead and individual contributor for a new liquid-cooled server rack product line. They will drive launch and ongoing support of high-power AI/ML, GPU, and hardware accelerator-based server, storage, and networking platforms featuring advanced liquid cooling.
Test Development & Execution
The Functional test engineer will own test process development for full rack (L6,10/L11) assembly and integration—ensuring quality, performance, and safety—across NPI and sustaining production. They will design procedures, automate test execution, analyze data for continuous improvement, and leverage liquid cooling expertise to deliver robust end-customer solutions.
Failure Analysis & Debugging
Performing hands-on debugging, validation, and system-level failure analysis of next-generation server and rack systems within a high-mix, high-ambiguity manufacturing environment. Strong Linux CLI proficiency, hardware integration expertise, and advanced troubleshooting skills across L6, and L10, test stages.
Automation & Data Analysis
Ability to train others on Linux basics. System architecture understanding, how liquid cooling integrates with overall system testing. Intermediate programming in Bash and Python. Familiarity with liquid cooling components (pumps, radiators, cold plates, chillers, reservoirs, tubing, fittings, coolants). Leak detection/prevention techniques and best practices.
Continuous Improvement
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and its application to data-driven troubleshooting and decision-making.
