About the role
This Functional Family Therapist (FFT) position is part of Urban Youth Alliance International, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting justice-involved youth and their families in the Bronx and Manhattan areas of New York City.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy with youth and adults using cognitive behavioral techniques.
- Offer primarily in-home family therapy in The Bronx and Manhattan.
- Treatment of predominantly at-risk Black and Latino youth ages 11 to 18 who are at risk of being justice-involved.
- Therapeutic/case management: 2 years of experience preferred.
- Work some nights and weekends, depending on clients' needs.
- Engage clients with creativity and tenacity, working in a strengths-focused approach.
- Advocate for youth and families, believing in their capacity to grow and change.
- Work comfortably with cultural differences and prioritize working with families in their own homes.
- Interact with referral sources such as Legal Aid Society, NYC Law Department, schools, and programs.
- Participate in community events with the therapy team.
- Manage a caseload of up to 15 cases and their electronic and case files.
- Timely recording of progress notes as required by FFT on the CSS system.
- Provide "home-based" Functional Family Therapy to families, adhering to model fidelity requirements.
- Attend weekly team and individual supervision meetings.
- Affirmatively refer families to appropriate services and supports.
- Willingness to travel to and from client family homes.
- Participate in all FFT training, supervision, and consultation activities.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, education, or other relevant human service profession.
- Spanish fluency required.

- Experience with therapeutic/case management.
- Ability to work with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Pay
$70,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Full-time position with an 8-hour shift.
