Functional Business Analyst with Retail Banking Platforms

This is a 12-month, 100% remote contract role open to candidates located in EST or CST time zones. Only applicants with H1B, H4EAD, or US citizenship will be considered.

About the role

Seeking a Functional Business Analyst with hands-on retail banking platform experience across Consumer Lending, Teller/Payments, or Sales & Service/Account Opening.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document functional requirements for retail banking applications.
• Create functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings.
• Understand and document end-to-end banking processes such as loan origination/servicing, teller operations, or account opening.
• Own business UAT, including test case creation, execution, defect triage, and resolution.
• Work closely with developers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Use SQL to validate business rules, transactions, and data.
• Support banking platform implementations, conversions, and enhancements.

Requirements

• 10 years of hands-on retail banking domain experience.
• Experience with at least one: Consumer Lending, Teller/Payments, or Sales & Service/Account Opening.
• Strong requirements documentation and UAT experience.
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
• Ability to explain an end-to-end banking process.
• Experience working directly with development teams and/or vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Argo platform experience.
• Fiserv, FIS, Jack Henry, or Temenos platform experience.
• Core banking conversion or merger experience.
• Knowledge of Reg B, Reg Z, HMDA, TRID, and Fair Lending.
• Agile/Scrum experience.
