Full-time Teller

About the Role

As a Teller at KeyBank, you will serve as a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to clients in our communities. You will provide excellent in-person client service, assist with account transactions, identify and resolve client servicing issues, and uncover financial wellness opportunities during conversations. Your role is pivotal in helping clients achieve their financial goals while maintaining compliance, security, and accuracy in all transactions.

Responsibilities

• Embody a strong client experience culture by being present and impactful with every client and teammate.
• Perform teller functions accurately and efficiently in an in-person branch setting.
• Proactively identify and resolve client servicing issues, escalating as needed.
• Listen for financial wellness opportunities during client conversations and transition clients to a Banker for deeper discussions.
• Assist clients in achieving financial goals using financial wellness tools.
• Attend and participate in morning huddles and end-of-day debriefs.
• Follow compliance, audit, and security procedures, including balancing cash drawers within guidelines.
• Stay current on product guides, fees, and policies.
• Work Saturdays as directed by management.
• Perform other duties as assigned, with potential changes to responsibilities over time.
• Comply with KeyBank policies, including professional conduct, ethical business practices, and acting in clients' best interests.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required).
• Experience in a client service role (required).
• Experience in cash handling (required).
• General understanding of PC with Windows-based applications and calculator (required).
• Notary License (preferred).

Skills

• Knowledgeable about client accounts and business with the bank; uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.
• Strong sales and service skills, including educating clients on access channels (e.g., ATM, Online, and Telephone Banking).
• Strong work ethic and high level of integrity.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to manage and maintain client accounts accurately and securely.
• Skill in educating clients on financial wellness, including budgeting, saving, and planning.
• Proficiency in processing cash transactions (deposits, withdrawals) and balancing cash drawers.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in transactions and record-keeping.
• Ability to identify and resolve client servicing issues efficiently.
• Understanding of banking regulations and security procedures.
• Ability to identify financial needs and promote relevant banking products and services.
• Awareness of fraud detection and prevention techniques.
• Effective collaboration with teammates to ensure smooth operations.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged standing (5-8 hours per day).
• Frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects.
• Ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with clients.
• Occasional bending and lifting from floor height.
• Frequent forward reach.
• Frequent lifting of 1–10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Driving Requirements

Ability to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license.

Pay

This position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 - $23.08 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes incentive compensation such as production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
