Full-time Teacher of Speech Correction (SLP): Preschool Early Intervention

Schedule: 7.00 Hours/Day (8:15 am-3:45 pm) Monday-Friday
190 Days/Year - Early Intervention follows a stretch calendar that includes a summer session.

Purpose of Position

The Speech/Language Therapist is responsible for assessing students referred for service, determining their speech/language remediation needs, and designing appropriate programs. They also develop schedules for therapy in assigned schools to maximize usage of time.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Education: Master's Degree in Speech/Language
• Certification: PA Certification in Speech & Language Impaired
• Experience: None; Three years preferred

Essential Physical Requirement

• Strength and ability to lift and/or assist in lifting pupils of ages ranging from pre-school to school-age and their assistive appliances
• Considerable bending, stooping, and squatting must be tolerated
• The ability to possibly restrain students in emotional stress
