Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for student clubs and organizations.

  • Update and maintain membership rosters.
  • Process activity request forms daily.
  • Mediate conflicts as needed.
  • Meet with students for technical and logistical support during event planning and implementation.
  • Provide support for event planning and implementation, including budgeting, advertising, set-up, adherence to campus guidelines, etc.
  • Act as a co-adviser for Lakeland Student Government (LSG) and Campus Activities Board (CAB).
  • Train, oversee budgets, and support student-led programming.
  • Aid in coordination of small-scale programming for the entire student body.
  • Assist with administrative support for activities, including space reservation, facility maintenance requests, purchases, and food orders.
  • Create content for SEAL’s social media platforms.
  • Publish the Campus Connection E-Newsletter.
  • Coordinate semesterly Campus Involvement Fairs.
  • Manage event planning, outreach, marketing, and logistics.
  • Develop guidelines and expectations for shared spaces.
  • Oversee the Creation Hub, manage equipment, coordinate reservations, and establish policies.
  • Provide oversight for the S-211 student lounge and S-217 student collaboration space.
  • Design and facilitate Inter-Club Council (ICC) leadership workshops.
  • Review Clery Act and reporting responsibilities, executive board guidance, elections, fundraising, budgets, social media, conflict resolution, and event planning.
  • Organize the Student Leader and Organization Awards Ceremony.
  • Solicit and review nominations, select and present awards to winners.
  • Cover invitations, awards, food, and post-ceremony activities.
  • Support the facilitation of formal student leadership and peer mentorship programs.
  • Contribute to co-curricular assessment efforts by collecting data, developing learning outcomes, and evaluating programs.
  • Assist in delivering required student trainings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree augmented by well-rounded and active participation in college co-curricular activities.
  • Work or graduate experience in areas of student affairs, student leadership, or campus activities.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising.
  • Experience developing, marketing, and implementing programming for target audiences.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Principles and practices of student activities support programs at higher education institutions.
  • Student personnel and leadership development programs and techniques.
  • Community college engagement.
  • Evaluate programming needs, appreciate differences among populations, and establish effective interpersonal working relationships.
  • Manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Lead students in discussion and decision making.
  • Develop and deliver formal presentations.
  • Facilitate mediation/conflict management techniques.

Physical Activity Level

Light - Sit sometimes, walk and stand sometimes, lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.

Conditions of Employment

  • This is a full-time continuing staff position.
  • The hourly rate is in grade 07A of the Staff Salary Schedule.
