About the role

We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our upscale plastic surgery center. The position offers competitive pay, health benefits, paid time off, and other perks.

Responsibilities

  • Help with OR accreditation, pre-op, post-surgery patient recovery, and circulating during cases in the OR.
  • Depending on the surgery schedule, hours could be from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, around 32 hours per week Monday - Thursday.
  • Promote and restore patients' health for H/K/B patients by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment for surgical cases.
  • Prepare and administer medications.
  • Assist anesthesia providers as needed.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
  • Remain in the room to assist with any needs.
  • Intraoperative charting.
  • Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
  • Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.
  • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
  • Solves patient problems and needs.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of PACU/recovery and OR circulating experience.
  • Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
  • Industry experience a plus.
