About the role
We are seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our upscale plastic surgery center. The position offers competitive pay, health benefits, paid time off, and other perks.
Responsibilities
- Help with OR accreditation, pre-op, post-surgery patient recovery, and circulating during cases in the OR.
- Depending on the surgery schedule, hours could be from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, around 32 hours per week Monday - Thursday.
- Promote and restore patients' health for H/K/B patients by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.
- Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment for surgical cases.
- Prepare and administer medications.
- Assist anesthesia providers as needed.
- Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
- Remain in the room to assist with any needs.
- Intraoperative charting.
- Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.
- Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Solves patient problems and needs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of PACU/recovery and OR circulating experience.
- Associates degree required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications required.
- Industry experience a plus.
