About the role

Ally Psychiatry is seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our inpatient behavioral health team. This unique full-time position offers a consistent Friday through Sunday schedule, allowing you to complete your workweek in three 12-hour shifts while enjoying four days off each week. Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up assessments
- Diagnose and treat a variety of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
- Develop and manage individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management
- Monitor patient progress, medication effectiveness, and potential side effects
- Adjust treatment plans based on each patient’s clinical needs
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, social workers, case managers, and facility leadership
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Provide patient and family education when appropriate
- Support continuity of care throughout hospitalization and discharge planning
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Deliver compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered psychiatric care
Requirements
- Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse practitioner or physician assistant program
- Current board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) with psychiatric experience
- Active Tennessee license
- Active DEA registration
- Psychiatric or behavioral health experience strongly preferred
- Previous inpatient psychiatry or hospital-based experience is a plus
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining actively engaged with a multidisciplinary team
