About the role
The Religion and Philosophy Department at Bethel University (IN) seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty member in Philosophy to begin in August 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach and develop coursework in Philosophy in response to departmental needs and areas of expertise.
- Teach courses in a complementary discipline such as ministry, biblical studies, literature, etc.
- Engage in professional service and scholarly activities.
- Demonstrate teaching excellence and enthusiasm for mentoring students.
- Collaborate in a Christian liberal arts setting and work with honors programs.
- Fulfill normal faculty duties including 12 hours of undergraduate teaching per semester and departmental/professional responsibilities.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Philosophy and demonstrated competency to teach in a complementary discipline.
- A vibrant Christian faith and understanding of how faith integrates with the discipline.
- Annual affirmation of the Articles of Faith and Practice of the Missionary Church and faithful membership in a local church aligned with Bethel's statement of faith and lifestyle expectations.
