Full-Time Pest Control & Lighting Technician
Pest Hunters of Greenville and Humbug Lighting of Greenville are seeking a dependable, motivated Full-Time Pest Control & Lighting Technician to join our growing team. This unique year-round position combines two skilled service trades: pest control and lighting installation, allowing technicians to develop multiple skills and increase their earnings.
About the role
This is a full-time, year-round position combining pest control and lighting installation. Technicians are cross-trained to work across both service businesses, providing opportunities to develop new skills and increase earning potential through performance-based compensation.
Pay
Guaranteed base pay: $22.00/hour. Technicians are eligible for performance-based compensation that can increase total earnings to the equivalent of up to $35.00/hour. Performance incentives may be based on factors including individual productivity, work completed, installation efficiency, quality and accuracy, customer satisfaction, sales, referrals, professional licenses, attendance, safety, and overall performance.
Responsibilities
Pest Control Technician
- Perform scheduled pest-control services, including mosquito and outdoor pest treatments
- Inspect properties for pest activity and conducive conditions
- Identify common household and exterior pests
- Apply pest-control products according to labels, company procedures, and regulations
- Treat standing-water and mosquito-breeding areas
- Provide exterior perimeter treatments
- Install and service pest-control equipment and systems
- Document treatments and service activities
- Communicate findings and recommendations to customers
- Identify opportunities for additional services
- Maintain pest-control equipment and materials
- Maintain required treatment and regulatory records
- Follow all pesticide, PPE, environmental, and safety requirements
Lighting Installation Technician
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and remove professional lighting systems, including:
- Landscape lighting
- Architectural lighting
- Permanent roofline/accent lighting
- Holiday and Christmas lighting
- Residential and commercial lighting
- Install low-voltage wiring, transformers, controllers, and related components
- Install landscape and architectural fixtures
- Work safely from ladders
- Troubleshoot lighting systems and replace/repair components
- Perform service calls
- Maintain installation tools and equipment
- Load and unload vehicles and trailers
- Organize customer materials
- Remove and store seasonal lighting
- Maintain clean and professional job sites
Customer Service
- Arrive professionally and on time
- Communicate clearly with customers
- Explain the work being performed
- Treat customer homes and businesses with care
- Identify customer concerns and recommend appropriate solutions
- Notify customers of potential additional services
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Leave job sites clean and organized
Sales & Performance Opportunities
- Identify opportunities for additional services, including:
- Pest-control services
- Mosquito-control services
- Landscape lighting
- Permanent lighting
- Holiday lighting
- Lighting repairs or expansions
- Customer referrals
- Earn additional performance compensation for qualified leads, referrals, sales, upgrades, and other revenue-generating activities
Requirements

Physical Requirements
- Work outdoors in hot and cold weather
- Walk and stand for extended periods
- Frequently lift and carry equipment and materials (up to approximately 50 pounds)
- Safely use ladders after appropriate training
- Work at heights when performing lighting installations
- Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive physical activities
- Enter and exit service vehicles frequently
- Load and unload trucks and trailers
- Wear required PPE
Driver Requirements
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Maintain an acceptable driving record
- Be comfortable operating company vehicles
- Be able to safely tow or learn to tow company trailers when required
Schedule
This is a full-time, year-round position with varying work schedules depending on season and customer demand. Work assignments will change throughout the year based on the needs of both pest control and lighting businesses. During peak lighting season, additional hours and schedule flexibility may be required. Some Saturday work may be needed based on customer demand, weather, and seasonal workload.
