Full-Time or Part-Time Urgent Care Nurse

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform triage, obtain patient history, and document patient information accurately while conveying a caring demeanor.
  • Obtain swabs and specimens as indicated by patients’ symptoms. Administer medications, injections, IV therapy (if in the scope of their practice) and other treatments as directed by providers.
  • Monitor patient progress and provide updates to providers.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and always maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor.
  • Maintain clean and organized patient care areas and ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development to stay current with the best practices in urgent care nursing.
  • Call results to patients in a timely manner and follow up with patients’ needs and requests as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid nursing license/certification in the state of Iowa.
  • BLS and Mandatory Reporter certifications required.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to perform a wide range of nursing duties, both independently and with colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment, while preserving the importance of caring for the whole patient and being sensitive to the current situation.
