Position Summary

Apparo Academy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team serving children with complex medical, developmental, and therapeutic needs. This role is integral to our mission of providing faith-based, whole-child care through therapy and education.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using appropriate assessments and clinical observations.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals aligned with each child's developmental, medical, and educational needs.

  • Provide direct therapy services in the outpatient setting, integrating sensory, motor, and ADL-focused interventions.

  • Collaborate with a team of speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, educators, nurses, and support staff to deliver coordinated care.

  • Educate and support families in carryover of therapy strategies and adaptive techniques at home.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Medicaid and insurance guidelines.

  • Adept treatment sessions to meet children's needs using creative, evidence-based, and play-centered approaches.

  • Supervise and mentor graduate students as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

  • Current Georgia licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure.

  • NBCOT certification.

  • Minimum of one year of pediatric experience preferred; new graduates with strong pediatric training and passion for working with medically complex children will be considered.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in early intervention, sensory integration, and/or neurodevelopmental approaches.

  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary therapy models.

  • Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for serving children with significant needs in a loving, faith-based environment.
