Responsibilities
- Review clinical information and evaluate its impact on the assessment and treatment process.
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments using standardized procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with achievable functional goals.
- Document evaluations, daily treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly.
- Revise treatment plans based on patient performance and progress.
- Supervise and guide therapy assistants, ensuring proper treatment techniques and the delivery of care.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers about exercises and therapeutic procedures to support carryover.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, and families to maximize functional outcomes.
- Assist with discharge planning and maintain knowledge of community resources.
- Participate in care conferences, meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain clinical competence through continuing education opportunities.
- Adhere to all regulatory, professional, and facility standards, including HIPAA and payer guidelines.
- Support the company’s mission, vision, and professional expectations.
- Maintain expected productivity levels and demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Active OT license in the state of practice
- BLS/CPR certification (current or obtained during orientation)
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team
