Full-Time Nursing Faculty (OB Specialty) - (MSN Required)

Hondros College of Nursing is seeking a full-time Nursing Faculty member to instruct students in assigned courses, providing guidance, direction, and support for student learning across various modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver instruction in courses aligned with documented qualifications and areas of expertise.
  • Ensure completion of all instructional activities, contact hours, and delivery responsibilities (including laboratory, simulation, and clinical experiences) in accordance with school policies, accreditation standards, and program requirements.
  • Maintain regularly scheduled weekly office hours to support student learning, provide academic guidance, and address student questions.
  • Demonstrate consistent and meaningful instructional presence based on assigned modality and school policy.
  • Support and ensure achievement of student learning outcomes through curriculum implementation, assessment activities, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives to comply with accrediting body standards.
  • Accountable for NCLEX preparation throughout the program.
  • Teach a full workload (full-time faculty) or up to 30 hours per week (part-time faculty).
  • Participate in quarterly professional development week activities.
  • Attend all campus meetings, faculty team meetings, and other designated meetings.
  • Participate in committees and campus events as designated by the Dean.
  • Attend graduation ceremonies and community events as designated by the Dean.
  • Support new faculty onboarding as designated by the Dean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Teaching experience preferred (minimum of 3 years in field of study).
  • 3 years’ experience as a registered nurse.
  • Active Ohio RN license that has never been encumbered.
  • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, peers, and community partners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must provide professional licenses and certifications required for specializations and clinical compliance in Ohio.
  • Must adhere to the school’s policy on faculty immunizations and provide proper documentation.

General Credentialing Requirements

Applicants selected for employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to starting. Requirements include:

  • Copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned.
  • Copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card.
  • Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months).
  • Immunization documentation for:
    • Hepatitis B
    • MMR
    • TDAP/Tetanus
    • TB (2 step)
    • Varicella
    • FLU (required for hires between October 1 – April 1)
