About the Role

The Nurse Practitioner is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for patients in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations. This hybrid role requires both inpatient and outpatient duties, including assessment of health status, diagnosis, development and implementation of treatment plans, and evaluation of patient status and clinical management. The practice is conducted in collaboration with other health care team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assess health status and diagnose patient conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Evaluate patient status and adjust clinical management as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA laws and safeguards.
  • Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Provide exemplary patient service with courtesy and respect.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of Primary Care hospital-based Nurse Practitioner experience.
  • Current New York Nurse Practitioner license.
  • DEA certification in good standing.
  • Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges.

Skills

  • Knowledge of pertinent medical and drug information for gastroenterology patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and MS Office.
  • Ability to multitask with sharp attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working under occasional stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
