Full Time Meat Manager

Cub Hastings is looking for a dedicated Meat Manager to plan and manage the meat and seafood department, promoting sales, achieving profit margins, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers and a safe working environment for associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers and ensure proper service levels and courtesy from all associates.
• Develop effective daily/weekly work plans based on sales projections, budgeted labor goals, and previous operating results.
• Implement and maintain coordinated, aggressive, and creative merchandising plans to maximize sales, variety, and gross profit.
• Supervise meat and seafood associates to ensure efficient labor utilization and effectiveness in meeting department objectives.
• Manage meat and seafood receiving, invoicing, pricing, shrink control, and inventory to meet gross profit goals.
• Perform meat and seafood cutting and preparation.
• Train and develop meat and seafood department personnel.
• Supervise department safety and sanitation programs.
• Perform personnel functions for the meat and seafood department.
• Observe standards and procedures regarding store security and confidentiality.
• Follow all store and department policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or delegated.

Requirements

• Good judgment, especially when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Strong judgment/decision-making, social skills, and verbal interaction abilities.
• Proficiency in memorization, reading, writing, and math.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Operating equipment such as meat slicers, scales, intercoms, and telephones.
• Walking and standing for the entire shift.

Schedule

Open availability including evenings and weekends.

Pay

UNFI anticipates paying within a specified pay range for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including education, experience, training, and requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
