Full Time Meat Cutter

Cub Mankato East is seeking a dedicated Full Time Meat Cutter to join our team. In this role, you will ensure a positive shopping experience by cutting, wrapping, preparing, and stocking products for the meat and seafood department.

Responsibilities

• Perform meat and seafood cutting, wrapping, and preparation
• Maintain meat and seafood cases
• Clean and sanitize equipment, cases, work area, and sales floor
• Assist customers with product locations and suggestions
• Answer department phone calls and respond or refer as appropriate
• Assist in ordering and receiving meat and seafood shipments
• Operate equipment such as meat slicer, scale, intercom, telephone, racks, calculator, forklift, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, patty machine, tenderizer, pressure washer, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned or delegated

Requirements

• Able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time
• Strong memorization, reading, writing, and math skills
• On-going customer interaction with prompt, courteous, and accurate service
• Good judgment, especially when direct supervision may not be immediately available
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
• Ability to write identifying information and request supplies verbally or in writing
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to work shifts varying in length and time, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
• Pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs
• Walking on uneven ground
• Reaching, bending, and repetitive motions
• Exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces
• Operation of equipment such as meat slicer, scale, intercom, telephone, racks, calculator, forklift, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, patty machine, tenderizer, and pressure washer

Schedule

Open availability required, including weekends.

Pay

UNFI anticipates paying a competitive hourly rate for this position, with actual pay depending on factors such as education, experience, training, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
