Responsibilities
Performing general maintenance and repair of building and facility mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout the property.
Performing general electrical repairs including work on appliances, house wiring, air conditioning systems, switches, fixtures, and motors.
Making repairs to plumbing fixtures, piping, drains, and sanitary systems.
Performing HVAC maintenance and repairs to ensure guest rooms and public spaces remain comfortable and properly conditioned at all times.
Making repairs to woodwork, wall vinyl, drywall, doors and windows, carpeting, tile, and other interior finishes to maintain the appearance and integrity of the property.
Performing painting and wall repair throughout the property as needed to maintain brand and property appearance standards.
Executing and supporting the hotel's preventive maintenance program, completing scheduled PM tasks on guest rooms, public areas, and building systems on time and to standard.
Responding promptly to work orders submitted by housekeeping, front desk, and other departments, prioritizing room readiness and guest-impacting issues.
Keeping accurate records of completed tasks, maintaining logs, and preparing and submitting all required reports in a timely manner as requested by your supervisor.
Identifying maintenance issues that fall outside your scope and escalating them appropriately to ensure they are addressed without delay.
Communicating clearly and professionally with team members across all departments when entering guest rooms or working in public areas.
Engaging with guests you encounter in a warm, professional, and helpful manner; your presence in the hotel is part of the guest experience.
Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the engineering shop and throughout the property.
Following all safety procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment, lockout/tagout protocols, and chemical handling standards.
Supporting emergency maintenance needs as they arise, including participation in an on-call rotation as required by the operation.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role at a hotel, resort, or comparable facility is strongly preferred.
Broad working knowledge of trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and general mechanical repair.
A strong attention to detail; you do not finish a job until it is actually done right.
An engaging, professional, and welcoming personality; you work throughout the hotel and your interactions with guests and team members reflect on the property.
The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and prioritize competing needs without losing focus or composure.
A genuine passion for delivering an exceptional experience for all guests through the quality and reliability of your work.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to document work accurately and communicate issues clearly to leadership.
A self-directed work ethic; you manage your time well, follow through on every work order, and do not need to be reminded to close out what you started.
Flexible availability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operation.
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial facility maintenance role is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance and repair.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and the discipline to execute them consistently.
Strong record-keeping skills and the ability to submit accurate logs and reports in a timely manner.
Knowledge of and commitment to safety standards including PPE use, lockout/tagout procedures, and chemical handling protocols.
The ability to stand, walk, reach, crouch, bend, push, and pull throughout the full duration of a shift.
Comfortable climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and navigating all areas of the property including rooftop and mechanical room access as required.
Flexible availability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A valid driver's license is a plus.
Any relevant trade certifications, EPA 608 certification, or other licenses are a significant advantage.
