Full-Time Head Nurse

About the Role

The Head Nurse oversees patient care, staff management, and daily operations within a nursing unit. They utilize the nursing process to make informed decisions, partnering with patients and families to promote health and uphold patient dignity. The role involves providing clinical leadership, ensuring continuity of care, and collaborating with leadership to meet departmental goals.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review diagnostic data relevant to patient conditions.
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and other disciplines to identify improvement opportunities and implement change.
• Guide and intervene during life-threatening situations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and patient outcomes.
• Implement innovative processes to enhance patient care.
• Participate in clinical leadership activities such as coaching, mentoring, staffing, and performance evaluations.
• Contribute to activities aimed at improving healthcare delivery.
• Communicate effectively with team members to provide quality patient care.
• Support ongoing learning and professional development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting or specialty area.
• RN licensure and BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
• Computer literacy required; additional certifications are advantageous.
